Power Passport Explained

Power Passport Explained

Published on 4 Oct 2025, 16:20:28 by Ivo Zaloudek

To take part in the Sunday Race Club (SRC) races (and possibly other premium events such as MyWhoosh Championship), you’ll need to meet a few requirements across three main categories:

  1. Hardware
  2. Other Rules
  3. Power Passport Test
  4. Pre-Verification Form
  5. PPT results
  6. Final words

Hardware

  • Dual power recording is mandatory - a smart trainer alone isn’t enough – you’ll also need a crank or pedal-based power meter (both single or dual-sided is fine)

  • Chest strap heart rate monitor (HRM) required - wrist-based monitors, armbands, or smartwatches are not allowed.

  • Connectivity - all devices must connect to MyWhoosh via Bluetooth. ANT+ is not allowed.

  • Supported devices

    • Trainers: Only specific models (mainly Garmin Tacx, Wahoo, and Elite).
    • Power meters: Almost all are supported except XCadey.
    • Always check the latest supported list on the MyWhoosh official ruleset.

As of writing this article on 4th October 2025, it is those trainers:

Category 1 and 2

  • Wahoo: V5, V6, Move, Kickr Bike V1 and V2, Kickr Shift.
  • Tacx: Neo, Neo 2T, Neo 3M, Neo Bike, Neo Bike Plus.
  • Elite Justo and Justo 2

Category 3, 4, 5, and 6

  • Wahoo: V5, V6, Move, Kickr Bike V1 and V2, Kickr Shift.
  • Tacx: Neo, Neo 2T, Neo 3M, Neo Bike, Neo Bike Plus.
  • Elite Justo and Justo 2
  • Wahoo Kickr Core
  • Jet Black Victory
  • Elite Justo Avanti

Other Rules

  • Gradient Difficulty in MyWhoosh must be set to at least 50%.
  • Riders must be able to stream their race (usually applies to top categories) upon request (this does not happen very often). If streaming, riders should wear an appropriate kit.
  • Riders must have a public Strava profile.
  • Your in-game account must use your real name (If, for whatever reason, you want to race under a nickname, you’ll need to request an exception and explain why).

Power Passport Test

Every rider must record a single continuous video (no cuts, no edits), upload it to YouTube (as unlisted), and submit the link in the SRC registration form.

The video must include:

  1. Intro

    • At the start, film yourself saying your name.
    • Do a 360° pan of the room where the entire test will be done.
  2. Date & Time

    • Show the exact date and time from a web browser (search “local time”).
    • You cannot use your phone or computer clock.
  3. Height Video

    • Use a piece of paper, a pencil, a measuring tape, and a flat object (like a book).
    • Stick the paper to the wall, mark your height, then measure with the tape.
    • Bring the tape and the height mark close to the camera so the number is clear.
  4. Hardware Video

    • Show serial numbers of:
      • Trainer
      • Power meter (crank/pedals, left/right if applicable)
      • HR strap (model only)
    • Show the pairing process in MyWhoosh:
      • Disconnect all devices first.
      • Pair trainer as primary power/cadence source.
      • Pair crank/pedals as secondary power source.
      • Pair HR strap.
    • Spin the cranks to show that power data is transmitting.
  5. Power Test

    • Perform the Power Passport workout in MyWhoosh:
      • Location: Workout → Testing → Power Passport linked here
      • Duration: 1 hour 6 seconds (warm-up + cooldown included).
      • Intervals:
        • Two 6-second sprints
        • One 3-minute effort
        • One 12-minute effort
    • Camera must capture both you riding and the MyWhoosh screen.
  6. Weigh-In Video (must be done after the workout)

    • Use a digital scale on a flat, hard surface.
    • No walls, furniture, or objects to lean on.
    • Use a test weight (≥10 kg).
    • Process:
      1. Zero the scale, weigh the test weight, remove it.
      2. Zero again, weigh yourself.
      3. Lift up the scale and show it from underneath
      4. Move the scale by 30cm forward
      5. Zero again, weigh yourself holding the test weight.
    • All readings must be clearly visible on video.

Pre-Verification Form

Once your video is uploaded, complete the Pre-Verification Form with:

  • Your name (same as in MyWhoosh)
  • Email (your MyWhoosh login)
  • Select “Power Passport Test”
  • Link to the workout video (with timestamp to test section)
  • Your weight (do not round down, enter the weight including the decimal points)
  • Link to the weigh-in video
  • Your height
  • Link to the height video
  • Trainer details (brand, model, serial number)
  • Crank/pedal details (brand, model, serial numbers left/right)
  • Link to the hardware video
  • Link to your Strava profile. Very likely, your Strava profile will be followed in a few days by MyWhoosh verification Strava account.

There are multiple fields for video URLs. Since the PPT is a single video, we suggest that you paste the same YouTube URL into all the link-related fields.

PPT results

Please note that you will not get any notification upon PPT approval. You will only get an email notification in case the PPT is rejected. What you should do upon PPT submission is to sign up for SRC, and on Thursday, you will receive a startlist via email where you will find out your newly assigned category.

The SRC registration is open weekly from Monday morning to Thursday early morning (GST time). You need to submit your participation request in this timeframe in order to race the following Sunday.

Also, please be aware that for the first two SRC races, you will NOT be eligible for any prize money. In order to participate in the team's monthly final competition, you need to finish at least two qualifiers that month.

Final words

It is advised to ask someone to help you videotape the PPT. Some of the parts are way easier if there's someone to help you hold the camera. Also, make sure that the phone is fully charged and has enough space for the recording (it might be gigabytes depending on the selected video quality).

There are some leaked Youtube videos that show the full process, you can check them out to find out some tricks as to how to create the video.

Good luck, and in case of any questions, please drop them below in the comments 👇👇

In my humble opinion, the optical heart rate sensors "Polar Verity Sense" or "Coros HRM" are on a par with the classic, electric HF belt in practical use.

On the one hand, you say that the link to the weigh-in video should be part of the Pre-Verification Form but on the other hand you say that the weight video should be part of single continuous video.

Hello Willi, yes, thats a good point, I have updated the article - it's the same form for PPT as well as monthly finals weight-in, thats the reason that there's a field for separate weight in video. In case of Power Passport test, the recommendation is to put the same URL everywhere.

You can make one continuous video and add a YouTube link pointing to the exact time using &t=seconds in the form.
