MyWhoosh 5.6.0 update
Published on 26 Jan 2026, 13:10:58 by Jakub VojacekMyWhoosh 5.6.0 was released on Monday 26th of January and the biggest new is the inclusion of Rowing and also mandatory HRM in some races.
- Rowing Mode Arrives
- Custom Running Workout Builder
- Required HRM for selected events
- Category-Specific Policing
- Custom workouts limitations
Rowing Mode Arrives
For the first time, MyWhoosh officially expands into rowing with the launch of Rowing Mode. This marks an important step in MyWhoosh’s evolution into a true multi-sport indoor training platform.
- Concept2 support at launch - one of the most widely used indoor rowing platforms is supported from day one, ensuring accurate performance data and broad accessibility.
Custom Running Workout Builder
Runners get a major upgrade in 5.6.0 with the introduction of the Custom Running Workout Builder.
- Structured interval workouts - Create workouts with defined intervals, recovery phases, and progression.
This brings running much closer to the level of sophistication cyclists already enjoy in structured training tools.
Required HRM for selected events
Competitive integrity remains a core focus of MyWhoosh, and version 5.6.0 delivers meaningful upgrades under the Fair Play Improvements umbrella. For me, this is the most important feature added in this update.
Selected events now support:
- Required active heart rate monitoring - All riders must have HRM connected upon joining the event. Brief signal drops are tolerated, but prolonged disconnections are penalized.
Category-Specific Policing
Previously, drone police values applied to the entire event. This meant that there were multiple events per category and you would join the event only for your designated category. From this update on, one event can now contain multiple categories, each with its own policing values.
This means that races like CEL or MyWhoosh February mission could have all category mass start and drone police enabled per category!
Custom workouts limitations
This update also brought a limit to the number of custom workouts that you can create. By default, you will have 10 slots = 10 custom workouts available. In order to create 11th and more workouts, you will have to pay for subscriptions. There are three different plans with different number of "workout slots". But you can just keep deleting the workouts that you have completed before adding a new one and you will never run out of slots.

Glad that rowing was added. I hope the next version allows a connection with the Concept2 logbook. Without that, acceptance will probably be quite low.
Does this mean you can only make 10 workouts total? OR could you delete previous workouts to keep adding custom workouts past the original 10?
Hello Will, yes, you just delete workouts that you dont need and you're good to go again
In running the speed is not working in 0.1 kph steps in game mode anymore since the latest update. So for now not able to use it for workouts as you can not get the correct speed. It goes up or down by 1 kph so avg speeds ar not correct either. Next to that the spm is back to double numbers.
Since the latest update, MyWhoosh does not retain my smart trainer setup and requires manual pairing each time. The Strava connection no longer works even after reconnection, and while Link App works, the chat feature is not functioning on iOS. I am using macOS 26.2.
As Oscar, Strava connection no longer works for me since the update... :(
