In-game updates
Lapping in Workouts + Achievements
Riders can now select any free-ride route to complete a workout on - and they’ll stay on that route from start to finish. Completing the route during a workout will now also unlock achievements for that specific route.
This long-requested workout lapping feature finally lets you choose any route for your workout, confident that you’ll stay on it the entire time. And not only that - you’ll now earn route completion achievements during workouts, not just in free rides!
Auto Categorization + Event Police (Selected Events Only)
Experience a new level of fair and competitive racing on MyWhoosh! MyWhoosh is introducing Auto Categorization and Event Police for selected MyWhoosh events - a system designed to take the guesswork out of choosing the right race and to ensure a fair playing field for all athletes.
Auto Categorization:
To participate, make sure your FTP (Functional threshold power) and weight are correctly entered in the Profile tab in-game (or in web on mywhoosh.com). Based on this information, you’ll automatically be placed into the appropriate racing category.
Only events relevant to your category will appear on the Events page — making it easier than ever to find the right race for your level. Simply select your event and join as usual.
Please note: Auto Categorization will only be enabled for selected events. Events using this feature will be clearly marked.
Event Police:
Once the race begins, your power output is continuously monitored across multiple time intervals. If you're performing above what’s realistically possible for your assigned category, you may be automatically removed from the event. This ensures a level playing field for all participants — whether you're just getting started or pushing the limits at the elite level.

Tips for riders:
- Not sure your FTP is accurate? Take a Ramp Test in the Workouts section to get a quick and reliable estimate.
- Always double-check your FTP and weight in your profile before joining a categorized event to ensure accurate placement.
With Auto Categorization and Event Police, MyWhoosh is making racing more accessible, fair, and competitive. You focus on strategy and performance — MyWhoosh handle the rest.
Nearby list in workout and event start pen
Another long-awaited improvement: the Nearby Riders list is now visible in event pens and workouts.
Previously, the list was empty before the start of an event, so you couldn’t see who you were about to ride with. Now you can - both before the event begins and even during workouts. While you should still focus on your intervals, it’s fun to see who’s training alongside you.
Virtual shifting in Arcade mode
The Zombie Arcade Mode, introduced in version 5.3, now supports virtual shifting.
Previously, riders using single-speed trainers (like those with a Zwift Cog) would eventually spin out and get caught by the zombies. Not anymore - with virtual shifting now active, you can fine-tune your cadence and see if you have what it takes to outride the undead!
Connect Link App during a ride
You can now connect the Link App even after your ride has started, directly from the Pause screen.
Forgot to pair it before you began? No problem - connect anytime without restarting your session.

Events using this feature (Auto Categorization) will be clearly marked. How are these marked - what will be see?
Nice to see some updates. Lapping in workouts is great. I Missed this in a 6-week training plan.
Suggestion for further improvements:
- give additional information about length and average % of climbs and uphill sections in the free ride overview. now you only see the profile with total elevation.
