MyBunch on MyWhoosh is a steady group ride where cyclists can train together without racing pressure. Join a paced bunch, stay consistent, and make indoor riding more engaging and social

MyBunch is a group ride feature in the MyWhoosh cycling platform. It's designed for riders who want to share a session with others without the pressure of competition or structured workouts. Each ride forms a virtual peloton that moves together at a chosen pace, helping you keep a steady effort while still feeling part of a group. Even when there are no real people riding in the bunch, you will not be alone, as each bunch consists of 6 virtual pacers. The reason why there are more is simply to ease the drafting for you - the group is bigger and longer, and you do not have to watch the draft as closely as if it were just one rider. But the popularity of MyBunch is growing steadily, and most of the time, there will be plenty of people in the bunch to keep you company.

MyBunch selection

Unlike races or interval sessions, MyBunch rides are more about rhythm and consistency than results. You simply join a MyBunch that matches your preferred power level - the offered levels are:

  • 1.2 wkg
  • 1.5 wkg
  • 2 wkg
  • 2.2 wkg
  • 2.4 wkg
  • 2.6 wkg
  • 2.8 wkg
  • 3 wkg
  • 3.3 wkg
  • 3.5 wkg
  • 3.8 wkg
  • 4 wkg
  • 4.3 wkg
  • 4.5 wkg
  • 5 wkg

As you can see, there are many options to choose from for every level. Once the ride starts, you will be teleported to the group, and your speed will match their speed. For additional 15 seconds, the game will help you maintain their speed, allowing you to start to pedal and produce appropriate power.

How to join and ride

You can find MyBunch rides in the Main menu of the game. Select the MyBynch that suits your current condition by clicking on it, and the ride will begin.

Most MyBunch rides last between 45 and 90 minutes, but you can leave whenever you want. You can also treat it as a warm-up or a filler ride between races. It's especially useful for maintaining aerobic fitness and practicing steady-state efforts - something many indoor riders find difficult to do alone.

Many riders open MyWhoosh, scroll through a list of races and workouts, and feel unsure what to pick. Sometimes you just want to ride without overthinking it. MyBunch is ideal for those situations. There's no requirement to finish, no ranking, and no penalty for logging off early. You simply join, spin with others, and get a solid workout without having to plan anything.

It's also a good fallback on days when motivation is low. The presence of other riders makes it easier to keep going, even if your original goal was just a short recovery spin. You may find that the steady movement of the bunch helps you extend your ride naturally, without forcing yourself to do so. You might be checking the distance that others in the bunch covered and be surprised to see how long someone can actually be riding.

I myself like to use MyBunch as a warmup before a race. I will pick for example 3wkg group and slowly warmup there at a steady pace. After I feel warmed up a bit, I will drop back from the group until I have like 5 second gap and I will sprint to catch back up. Rinse and repeat a few times, and you will be race ready!

Personal challenge

One could treat the MyBunch as a personal challenge and a way to improve oneself. Join a fast-paced bunch a few times a week and meassure how long you will last before you get dropped. As you gain fitness, the duration should increase every week and eventually you will pick a harder bunch and start from scratch again.

Communication and social interaction

While MyBunch isn't as chatty as a real-life group ride, MyWhoosh includes multiple ways to communicate. You can use the in-game messages or emoticons that appear on-screen above your avatar for other riders.

Even silent participation can feel social. Seeing avatars move around you, noticing someone holding your wheel, or gradually catching another rider gives the session a more human rhythm. It's a small psychological boost that makes the workout feel shared rather than isolated.

Final words

Some of the MyBunch groups might feel unpopulated, you might feel like you're riding just with virtual bots. However, if enough people give the MyBunch the benefit of the doubt, it could turn out to be a great community feature. So instead of just free-riding some random route, jump on MyBunch next time. Meet other riders and socialize!

Does anyone proofread these articles? Lots of typos.
